Join us for our annual Health Innovation and Public Policy (HIPP) Conference on the afternoon of Wednesday March 10th, 2021. The event is open to everyone, free to attend, and includes a complimentary $5 gift card to a local cafe (limited supply). It will be held via WebEx Events from 1:30 – 4:30 PM Saskatchewan time.
Our theme this year is Connection. How do we connect with each other? How are different parts of health connected? How can we ensure everyone is equitably connected to health services? To explore these questions, we have invited a diverse group of speakers to present on topics including but not limited to: dealing with misinformation; connecting marginalized groups to oral healthcare; including people who use drugs and drug user activists in drug policy work; connecting mental health and the arts to medicine, and how race and gender are connected to our health care system.
Our speakers are:
Timothy Caulfield (law professor, TV host, author)
Dr Abbas Jessani (dentistry professor and researcher),
Garth Mullins (host of the Crackdown podcast), and
Dr Chika Stacy Oriuwa (spoken word poet and psychiatrist)
Speaker #5 TBD
Join us as we hear incredible stories from experts and advocates from a variety of backgrounds. Each speaker will provide a brief presentation of their work in spearheading change and advocating for better health for everyone. These presentations will be followed by a panel discussion where all attendees are invited to ask any questions they may have, whether specific for a particular speaker or broad for all to comment on.
PLEASE NOTE: Registration is required for this event! Attendees must register by Monday, March 8th on this Eventbrite page. https://hipp2021.eventbrite.ca
We look forward to welcoming you to HIPP 2021!
