On March 1st, 2023, the Pediatrics Interest Group is hosting a skills night where we review the Newborn baby physical exam with Pediatrics residents, both in Regina and Saskatoon. From 5:30pm-7:30pm, resident facilitators will review the Newborn exam with pre-clerkship medical students, and then students will have the rest of the time to practice the exam on simulation dolls. This event will help students practice their physical exams skills relevant to the head-to-toe physical exam of a newborn infant, for the purposes of OSCEs and clerkship rotations, or simply to learn new skills which they have not yet covered in their schooling! Food will be provided, and a raffle will take place to give away prizes to attendees!

The event will take place at Louis’ Pub on the University of Saskatchewan Saskatoon campus, and will be a great opportunity for Undergraduate MD students of all years to meet residents in a casual environment to ask them any and all questions about their residency experience. Food and beverages will be provided. If you’re a student from Regina and wanting to attend, please reach out to Taylor Dennison (MS2) or Rachel Silverberg (MS2) to discuss the possibility of gas reimbursement.
